What series are you currently watching? (Some exposition on whether they're good or not's preferred...)

I've not watched anime on DVD or divx lately; however, I did see the first two episodes of Android Kikaider the Animation on Saturday down at Otakon. I have the first two boxsets of G Gundam, but have yet to even touch the second. Also, for some reason, I skipped eps 7 and 8 (Tequila and Lumber Gundam, respectively).
I did, however, over the course of the past six months see stuff like Abenobashi Magical Shopping District (which contained more breast-related humor than Benny Hill--one of the characters is actually called "Breast-Breast*" for fuck's sake) and Azumanga Daioh (surprisingly good--watching two athletically inept children trying to play catch is train-wreck entertaining**, and there are plenty of running gags throughout the series).
*Well, it's actually Mune-mune, but that's Japanese for "breast-breast."
**You know how a train wreck is so grotesque that you want to look away, but you can't? Well, this scene is kind of like that. Except it pretty much goes like this:
Girl 1: Catch! Girl 2: Okay! *ball hits Girl 2 square in the face, Girl 2 goes to catch it* *repeat with names reversed*

FLCL/Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri: I've seen every japanese episode, and the dub actually corresponds with the sub. I disagree with PT about it being crap. It's a decent anime with off the wall humor. Haruko rules all.
Android Kikaider--The animation: Ok, it's a remake of a old 70s kanji show, but my opinion on it is like FF7-- great, but a cop-out ending. Also, it should've had more episodes.
Lupin the 3rd: This, like original Dragonball, I'll never get bored watching; funny for everyone.
Big O(season 2): This shit is awesome; even better than the 1st season. I'm interested to see where it goes.
Trigun: Decent anime; something was missing though.
Inu-yasha: The series ended in Japan in Dec. 2002. We need the rest of it dubbed NOW.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Awesome anime; this is how a teenage action anime should be.
If I had some extra money, I'd buy the whole series of Kodomo No Omocha, Star Ocean EX(just starting to get into the games), and some Crayon shin-chan(REALLY want to see this.)
Also, has anyone seen DBGT(sub or dub)? I heard they tried to be "hip" with the dub giving it a hip-hop/rap soundtrack(WTF? That's fucking retarded. At least the music for the dubbed DBZ fit, but rap for any DB(DB/Z/GT) is incredibly dumb.)
For me, it already has 3 strikes.
Strike 1: Akira Toriyama didn't make it. Strike 2: They made Goku a little kid again. Strike 3: They kill of many characters who still could've been developed better.
IMHO, they should've ended it with Z, and I personally like to just imagine it like that and say that GT was a dream for Goku.
Any thoughts on DBGT?

Blue Gender: I wanted AS to get a good violence action show and damn this is one heartless show that kills people off left and right. It's sort of like Starship Troopers and that's good enough for me.
The final episode of FLCL is on tonight and I doubt it will be any good. I like fucked up/insane humor but this show isn't funny and the whole "it doesn't have to make sense because Eva didn't and it did good" thing is basically a cop out for good writing.

Frankly, FLCL was, at least in my opinion, pretty funny at times, mostly the "out-of-nowhere" stuff like the "manga-esque" scenes from eps 1 and 6, and the scene with Amarao going between the different animation styles (close-up, sleek to South Park). And, of course, the eyebrows were pretty funny.
On another subject, has anybody ever seen/heard of that new Tenchi Muyo spinoff, GXP (I think that's what it's called--it's also called Galaxy Police Force)?
I saw some previews for interesting stuff, like Witch Hunter Robin. That one seems pretty dark, and it involves fire and lots of it. So, that should be good. I also liked the Bastard!! series. Another 6-ep series (possibly OAV's) that had adult situations, language, nudity and violence--or, as I always say, "something for everyone." Plus, it has a teenage kid who becomes an unstoppable demon sorcerer when he's kissed by a virgin. What's not to like?

Also, Witch Hunter Robin is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer ripoff, and considering I could give two loads of monkey shit about Buffy, that should tell you the obvious as far as my opinion of it. I'd like to see Bastard!! though.

From the stuff I've heard, I'd disagree with Joey on Witch Hunter Robin- one of my good friends was all about the series last year, so it might be worth watching.
For what I've seen recently (read: Over the summer)...
FLCL: Put me in the middle ground between PT and Joey: It's not too horrible of a show, but it's nowhere near the best that I've seen. (Extra caveat for the people in this: Abenobashi Magical Shopping District is actually supposed to be the TV series version of FLCL, so if you're not a fan of FLCL, that series might not be a good thing.) Android Kikaider: IMHO, this is the worst series of the summer for Adult Swim, going into Reign-levels of suckiness. Blue Gender: It's not the worst series I've seen, but I personally preferred FLCL of the new breed on Adult Swim. I'll probably need to check some of the episodes now that it should have gotten into gear.
As for DVDs:
Azumanga Daioh: Like Roche said, it is better than you'd expect. It seems a little bit too "Charlie Brown and Snoopy"-ish for my taste [read: series based on comic strips that proceeds to basically animate the strips in order], but it's a worthwhile watch. Chobits: If you like the manga, the anime won't lead to many new surprises. The dubbed version's not that great- a few of the voices seemed a little older than they were supposed to be. Ground Defense Force Mao-Chan: This series has a slight American feel to it [gag-oriented 10 minute episodes]. It wasn't as good as the director/creator's previous work [Love Hina], but I don't regret buying it. Onegai Teacher: Joey told me this series was pretty good, and it was okay for it. It kept me from having to deal with family members at my sister's house/allowed me to continue possible work on wOwfed and stay away from socializing/sister's BIG GAY POOL PARTY!, plus it allowed me to convert 4 impressionable children to the ways of the anime Force, so it's not too bad for those. s-CRY-ed: DISSAPOINTING. I had heard really good things about it, and the manga was cool, so I assumed it would be good. End result: Mediocre. Ranma 1/2: I really need to continue watching seasons 3 and 4 of this: they're not mine and I have to be back at school the 31st.

I'd like to see Bastard!! though. Trust me, man, seek out the complete DVD; I think it's all six eps on one DVD. But if you want more of it, check out the manga; it has stuff that would probably never make it on TV anywhere (such as a "mate" of the main character turning into a spider in mid-coitus).

To Joey: <<Inu-yasha: The series ended in Japan in Dec. 2002. We need the rest of it dubbed NOW.>>
From what I've heard, new episodes of Inu-Yasha drop on Adult Swim September 1st; I wouldn't be surprised if it's the rest of the series.
For other stuff:
I just finished the Ranma 1/2 seasons I borrowed, and just started Pet Shop of Horrors I rented- most likely finished by tomorrow when it's due back [it's fairly straightforward on its pacing- one episode of 4 to one chapter of the manga, no real differences], In addition, one of my managers at work sold me DVDs of Raxephon and Heat Guy J cheap, so I'll probably finish them quick.
