-The Fuyuki Army held its last show on May 5th at the Kawasaki Stadium parking lot, drawing a disappointing 8250 fans, mainly because of constant changes to the card and inclement weather. The main event saw Kintaro Kanemura and Hido defeat Riki Choshu and Tomohiro Ishii. Japanese stars Satoshi Kojima, Masato Tanaka, Shinjiro Ohtani, Shinya Hashimoto, TAKA Michinoku, Kaz Hayashi, Gedo, Jado, and Sabu also appeared on the card.
On May 8th, at the Yokohama Arena for Dreamstage Entertainment's HUSTLE-3 show, Tanaka and Tetsuhiro Kuroda would team with All Japan's Tomoaki Honma to take on Kanemura, Sabu, and Mike "The Gladiator" Awesome, now wrestling for All Japan. The end result would see Awesome giving Honma a Kamikaze Awesome Bomb (with help from Kanemura) through a table for the win.
Kaoru Fuyuki, the widow of Hiromichi Fuyuki, has declared all Fuyuki Army wrestlers to be freelancers, but it is expected that most of them will come to wOw Japan. wOw Japan has finally announced on its website that they will be hold events, starting May 29th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. It is expected that many wrestlers from not only Fuyuki Army, but from WMF and Zero-One as well will show up to start the new section of wOw in a big way. Former wOw World Champion Kevin Killgore has been named Director of Talent and Venue Operations, which basically means he handles everything within the promotion except for booking. Longtime FMW and Fuyuki Army booker Go Ito is expected to be named head booker of wOw Japan.
In addition to the announcement of the first show, wOw Japan also declared they were creating a new wOw title, the wOw Brass Knuckles Title (designed as a tribute to the former FMW Brass Knuckles Title), and would have an 8-man, round robin tournament to declare the first champion. Announced wrestlers for this tournament include Killgore, Patricio del Chulo, Trey Thomas, and Dino Callas (who would represent wOw), Kintaro Kanemura, Mr. Gannosuke, Tetsuhiro Kuroda (representing the Apache Army), and Masato Tanaka (representing ZERO-ONE). The first card has been booked as follows:
wOw Japan
5/29/04
Korakuen Hall, Tokyo
wOw Brass Knuckles Tournament Matches:
Kevin Killgore vs. Masato Tanaka
Kintaro Kanemura vs. Tetsuhiro Kuroda
Mr. Gannosuke vs. Trey Thomas
Patricio del Chulo vs. Dino Callas
Non-tournament matches:
Royal Rumble (participants TBA)
Phantasma vs. Biomonster DNA
wOw World Tag Team Title Match: The Nobodies (c) vs. Chocoball Mukai and Mammoth Sasaki
Koji Nakagawa and Sanshiro Takagi vs. TAKA Michinoku and Gentaro Takahashi
There is also talk of a Jay Matthews vs. Prodigy wOw World Title match as the main event of the show. Clearly the promotion is looking to pack the hall, and they shouldn't have much trouble with a card like that, featuring plenty of singles matches.
